Thelma Rodriguez-Winter Joins EcoMotion’s Climate Smart Schools Team
After a lengthy employee search involving nearly 50 remarkably suited candidates, EcoMotion is pleased to announce Thelma Rodriguez-Winter as our new Assistant Project Manager for Climate Smart Schools. In that capacity, she will help manage CSS planning and energy-efficiency retrofit works for the Garden Grove Unified School District (and its 72 campuses) and the Poway Unified School District in San Diego County and its 37 campuses.
A native of Ohio, she completed her undergraduate and graduate work at the University of Toledo. For her graduate thesis in Civil Engineering with a focus on environmental engineering and sustainability, she analyzed the lifecycle carbon impacts on Toledo’s water and wastewater systems, addressing and valuing upstream, indirect factors such as the embedded energy in chemicals used for water purification.
Prior to her graduate work, Thelma was involved in the creation and implementation of Better Buildings of Northwest Ohio, a U.S. Department of Energy program. In that capacity, she and her colleagues created a PACE program for the City of Toledo. She also served as the Executive Director of the Northwest Ohio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Thelma is based at EcoMotion’s field office at the California Endowment in downtown Los Angeles.
