EcoMotion to Assist Brea in City-Wide Energy Efficiency Planning

Project Includes Improved Permitting, Building Management, and an Updated Municipal Energy Efficiency Plan

As a regional leader in energy efficiency and alternative energy planning, Brea is taking the next step in upgrading its municipal capabilities. Using funding by Southern California Edison, the City Council voted on August 16 to task environmental consulting firm

EcoMotion with three major efforts, to be completed over the next 15 months:

1. Install an online building permitting system that will speed the process and automatically flag energy efficiency opportunities for local residents, business owners and contractors.

2. Select and install “utility manager software” to allow the City to analyze energy usage in all its buildings, and manage them more efficiently.

3. Develop an energy efficiency blueprint for the City, as part of the City’s Climate Action Plan.
